Continued economic growth in South Africa calls for an ever increasing demand for energy. Energy shortages can easily prevent or hamper economic development.
But not only energy is provided by solar, it is also a sustainable job-creator.
The potential for solar energy using photovoltaic cells is significant for Southern Africa.
Due to the increasing demand for solar training in South Africa and other African Countries we decided to set up a new company. SUNCYbernetics, in conjunction with the Solar Traning Center, is responsible only for solar training. In association with their project partner, the North West-University of Potchefstroom, SUNCYbernetics will operate the Solar Training Center SA at the Campus of the North-West University. One of the aims is to establish sustainable knowledge transfer by teaching both the practical as well as the theoretical knowledge related to photovoltaic energy solutions. Additionally to the training SUNCYbernetics operates as a PV consulting company.
For this purpose Mr Nicholaas Faure van Schalkwyk has been hired as Energy Research Engineer & Trainer.
In 2013/2014 this project was supported by the DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH with funds from the programme "Climate partnerships with the private sector" of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
